Ammo-99-DL Application of US Army ESQD Principles (4E-F65/645-F49 (DL))

Ungraded knowledge checks are distributed throughout the content to provide students with immediate feedback about their level of understanding in each topic. Graded multiple choice questions are provided at the end of each course. 75% of these must be answered correctly to complete the course. After three unsuccessful attempts to do so, the course will be marked as unsuccessful.

Description: This course satisfies mandatory certification training and refresher training requirements for personnel whose responsibilities include determining or managing explosives safety quantity-distance (ESQD) limits as prescribed by DESR 6055.09, DoDI 5160.68, AR 385-10, and DA PAM 385-64. Course content includes a comprehensive review of DoD and U.S. Army governing regulations and procedures critical to ensuring compliance with ESQD requirements. This course additionally provides detailed technical training in determining required minimum levels of protection for facilities, material, and personnel and mitigating the expected effects of damage caused by an accidental explosion at each level, interpreting textual and tabular instructions to determine safe separation distances and explosives limits, and applying protective construction measures.

Audience: U.S. Army CP-20 Quality Assurance Specialists, Ammunition Surveillance (QASAS), U.S. Army CP-12 Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) professionals with explosives safety responsibilities requiring completion of Level 2 Certification, personnel who prepare, review, or recommend approval of site plans, facility engineers, installation master planners, ammunition technicians, ammunition specialists, ammunition, storage, transportation, demil, and maintenance operations planners and supervisors, ammo handlers, and additional explosives safety related personnel who require training in the application of U.S. Army ESQD principles as prescribed by DESR 6055.09, DoD 5160.68, AR 385-10, and DA PAM 385-64.

Length: Approximately 24 hours (self-paced learning)

Special Information: This course is considered functional training for CP-20 QASAS personnel. It is also considered mandatory certification training for achieving Level 2 Certification for CP-12 safety professionals who have explosives safety responsibilities. In addition, this course is considered to be functional training for a variety of explosives safety related occupations.  This course is a web-based (online) course. Students must have web access, a CAC card, and an AKO account. Students must register through ATRRS for course credit. A high-speed Internet connection is recommended to complete the course.
