Geographical Location: Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach (NWSSB) is located 30 miles south of Los Angeles, off of Interstate 405 just South of I-605 and North of SR-22. The nearest airport is Orange County/John Wayne Airport, south of the city, about a 15-20 minute drive from NWSSB (dependent on traffic).

Directions: There are various ways to arrive at NWSSB. Please see attached map.

From the NORTH: Driving from a northern installation (NB Ventura County) or a northern airport (LAX or Long Beach), follow the signs to Interstate 405 (SOUTH), and head towards San Diego.

From the SOUTH: Driving from a southern installation (Camp Pendleton or Metro area, San Diego) or southern airport (Orange County), follow the signs to Interstate 405 (NORTH), heading toward Los Angeles.

Whether driving Northbound or Southbound I-405, exit Seal Beach Blvd. Drive Southwest (toward the ocean), ensuring the Weapon Station fence-line is on your left. Westminster Blvd divides the Station in two parts. The main gate is located at the intersection of Forestall and Seal Beach Blvd.

Transportation: There is no on-base transportation. Students must show their driver’s license, registration, and proof of insurance for POV’s and rental cars without DOD decals. Additionally, a Visitor's Pass is required.

Training Location: Classes are normally held in the training classroom at Building 10. To get to Building 10 from the main gate, continue on Forestall, through the gate, making the first available LEFT (fire station is on the corner). Proceed down Hussey Road, making the first available LEFT. At the stop sign, make a RIGHT turn. Credit Union will be on left sign, gym on the RIGHT. Continue until you see Bldg 10. Parking lot is located on the north side of the building. Entrance is located near the smoking area. Follow the signs.

Attire: Students should wear casual business attire. Sweatshirts, tank tops, and shorts are inappropriate. Military may wear civilian attire or working uniform or BDU’s. Coverall’-s are not authorized.

Lodging: At this time, Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach has no temporary BQ. There are local hotels in the immediate vicinity of Seal Beach that offer comfortable stays.
