Ammo-49-DL Naval Explosives Safety Managers/Supervisors Orientation (4E-F39/645-F23 (DL))
Description: This course is a certification course in accordance with NAVSEA OP 5, Volume 1 Appendix D. It is designed provide personnel with supervisory duties over ammunition and explosives operations at shore facilities with general overview of explosives safety requirements. This course provides a detailed overview of general ammunition and explosives safety training. The training introduces the different classes of ammunition and explosives stressing safe handling and explosives safety requirements. The training emphasizes use of Navy publications and instructions for extracting information required to safely manage ordnance operations. Course content provides scenarios where the student must be able to find and use referenced information to solve problems.
Audience: This course is intended for Navy/Marine Corps shore activity Explosive Safety Officers. Students should be supervisory safety professionals with duties involving ammunition and explosives. Other students may include supervisory personnel at the grade level of E-6 and above, O-1 to O-6, WG 09 and above, or GS 07 and above at a Navy or Marine Corps activity/installation who have responsibility for the safety of ammunition and explosive operations. Identification of students for whom this course is mandatory or recommended is given in Appendix D of NAVSEA OP 5, Volume 1. NOTE: Proponent has determined this course is not releasable to International Military Students.
